Established with a vision to provide top-notch fire safety solutions, we embarked on this journey with a commitment to excellence.
“Back in 2014 when we founded Coastal Fire Services, our mission was clear – to offer unmatched fire safety solutions to our community. We envisioned a company that not only met but exceeded industry standards, making a real impact on the safety landscape,” Heath said.
Our team consisted of firefighters and electrical tradespeople, who identified that changes in legislation meant property managers, landlords and businesses were at risk of non-compliance.
“We wanted to provide a service backed by the expertise and not just leave it to tick and flick providers who weren’t in fact ticking all the requirements,” Heath added.
The biggest shift in our business journey came when we transitioned from residential smoke alarm servicing to comprehensive commercial property fire servicing.
“Just as our residential arm grew organically, so did our commercial arm,” Director & Financial Controller, Matthew Hunt reflects.
“We’ve been fortunate to strengthen the Coastal team with a group of highly qualified fire servicing professionals who continue to deliver great service and expand that part of the business,” Matthew said.
Our journey owes its success to the continued support of the Newcastle community. We firmly believe that our involvement within the community, giving back and collaborating with organisations such as Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, Divas on the Green, Mark Hughes Foundation, Sleapy’s Foundation, Merewether Carlton Junior Rugby Team, Wallsend Touch Football Association, among others, has enabled us to strengthen ties within the Newcastle community.
This support has allowed us to grow from a modest operation to servicing over 20,000 properties with a dedicated team of 17 professionals. We credit this success as well to our exceptional team, whose commitment and expertise have moulded Coastal Fire Services into a trusted provider.
Looking forward, we envision further growth and expansion, supported by our talented team whom we are dedicated to nurturing and empowering. This dedication ensures the continuation of our quality and personalised service that sets us apart in the industry.

“Since the business was established, we’ve seen remarkable transformations, from shifts in legislation to evolving client expectations. Through it all, we’ve remained flexible, adapting our approach to meet the demands of an ever-changing market,” Matthew continued.
Additionally, we’ve expanded our offerings to provide a complete solution encompassing all aspects of fire servicing, from wet to dry systems, passive fire protection, and more.
